Hey there! I'm a novice woodworker and I'm facing a bit of a challenge since I don't have a car or a license to rent a truck. I'm on the hunt for hardwood dealers in NYC that can deliver to the Queens area. Specifically, I'm looking for about 18 board feet of alder wood, in 4/4 thickness and around 5 feet long. I'm okay with paying extra for delivery, just not something exorbitant. If all else fails, I might have to sweet-talk a friend with a truck! Also, I'm curious about the current state of the hardwood business. Any insights?

I can't say for sure if they deliver to Queens, but ML Condon from White Plains has some really nice wood available. It might not be the cheapest option, but their selection is pretty great, and the staff is friendly!
Honestly, your best bet might just be to grab a friend with a truck. Bribe them with some burgers and you should be good to go!
I used Rosenzweig Lumber when I had an architectural woodworking shop in NYC. They're quite reliable and might be able to help with delivery! Check out their website for more details.

Haha, burger bribing might just be the way to go!
