I've got a situation with my toilet's float valve and I'm not exactly a plumbing expert. Despite raising the arm to its maximum, the shut-off valve isn't stopping the water, which is almost reaching the overflow edge. I've checked the flap, and it's sealed—no water's entering the bowl. I have another bathroom that's identical, and its water level is about an inch lower than the overflow. Am I right in thinking that my float valve might need replacing, or is there something else I can try?
