Every spring and summer, I've got a family of chipmunks taking up residence under my driveway. When I notice a hole, I try to fill it with gravel, but they always seem to dig it out or just create a new one. I'm a bit worried that all this burrowing might be making my concrete driveway sink and crack. If I decide to trap them, will that get rid of them for good, or will new chipmunks just take their place?

Honestly, trapping them might just lead to more moving in later, especially the younger ones. I actually kinda like chipmunks, and I think the holes they make aren't usually that concerning for the driveway. If it was me, I'd probably let them be unless they start doing some serious damage.
I hear you! My dad used to trap them, but it seemed like more always showed up later, or the ones he caught would just find their way back. It can feel like a never-ending battle against those little guys!
I had to take action when one mother chipmunk turned into a whole crew of babies under my deck! I got a no-kill trap from Amazon, caught them all, and relocated them to a nearby park. It worked – three years later and no new chipmunks have moved in since!
