Best Black Epoxy for Filling a Crack in Wood?

Asked By CraftyCat123 On

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on what black epoxy to use for filling a crack in a slab. The crack is about 10 inches long and an inch deep. I've done some woodworking before, but this will be my first time working with epoxy. Since I don't anticipate needing this often, I'd like to know what would be a suitable small amount to buy to handle this. Any recommendations?

You should try P-TEC 8400. It's a great wood filler specifically for situations like yours, and it costs around $40 for a pack. Once it sets, you're good to go for planing, milling, and tapping.
