How Can I Stop My Apartment Door From Slamming Shut?

I'm looking for simple and discreet ways to prevent my apartment door from slamming. It's become a real issue, and despite asking for help multiple times, nothing has been done. The door slams constantly, and it's keeping me up at night. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

If your door has a closing mechanism, it could be adjustable. You might want to check that out before installing anything new. Also, a self-closing hinge can work, but keep in mind that it will close the door automatically, which might be a bit annoying!

One easy fix is to grab some felt pads from the hardware store. Just stick them on the door frame; they help to muffle the sound when the door slams. It's a quick and budget-friendly solution!

You might want to consider a door closer. If it's a light interior door, Lowes has one for about $32. It only needs 8 screws to install, so check that it screws on instead of using bolts for a more discreet look. Here’s a link to one: [Brinks Door Closer](https://www.lowes.com/pd/BRINKS-COMMERCIAL-Light-Duty-Residential-Closer-WH/5001579165).
