What Should I Do With This Buried Concrete Border in My Flower Bed?

I just bought a house and found a concrete border about 6 inches deep while trying to re-edge my flower bed. It looks like it used to be part of some old landscaping, and there are also some electrical lines running through the area. What would be the best way to handle this situation? Should I dig it out, cover it up, or something else?

I had a similar issue! The previous owners just covered everything with grass. I ended up digging out the concrete and reusing it for my flower bed. It feels great when your house reveals what it needs!

Thanks so much for the reply! This is likely what we will do. Was considering covering it back up and going with the new edge too. Might just fill it in and plant grass up to the old edge there.

It sounds like that concrete border might have been the base for an old landscaping wall. You might want to consider digging it out and cleaning it up—it could save you money on materials since it's already there!

Definitely check where those electrical lines go before doing anything! Are they connected to an outdoor outlet? It’s wise to be cautious with potential live wires if they’re running through your yard.

They go to an outlet on the outside of the house. Not sure where they go in the yard yet. Nothing above ground.
