I'm planning to build a woodworking shop, but I have a unique challenge: I can only set it up temporarily in my garage. At the end of the day, everything needs to be dismantled and stored away so I can park my cars inside. This is partly due to my spouse's wishes and partly because I live in an area prone to hail. I do have some space on both sides of the garage where I can store tools, plus a rolling workbench (though I think I might need a more solid one than my current Seville). I'm curious if there are reliable portable tools and tables I can use for this setup, and I'm looking for any tips on what to consider when building a workshop that needs to be easy to set up and tear down each day. Any recommendations or advice?

One option is to hinge your tables to the wall; that way, once you've cleared them, you can just lift them up and out of the way. It’s worked for my home gym, so it might work for your shop too! If you're feeling ambitious, you could even think about a lift system to lower your workspace when needed, but that might get pricey depending on your ceiling height.
Check out wall-mountable workbenches! They're not hard to build and can fold out and disassemble in no time. Just be careful—having a setup like this might lead to the temptation to leave your stuff out instead of packing it away.

Totally get that! My wife would have my head if I left her car out during hailstorms, so I need to keep things tidy. It’s all too easy to put off packing things away when you know you’ll finish that project ‘soon’.
