Is it standard for Sansi to charge for replacement of faulty grow lights?

Hey everyone! I'm in the EU and bought a Sansi grow light that's only about 11-12 months old, but it's stopped working. I figured I'd reach out to Sansi since it's still within the warranty period. However, they asked for a video of the issue (which I provided), and then informed me that I'd need to pay around $12 as a 'resend fee' to get a replacement. This fee seems to be about 30% of what I initially paid. I'm wondering if this is a common practice for Sansi, because it doesn't feel very consumer-friendly. Plus, I'm unsure if such a charge is even legal under EU warranty laws. Has anyone gone through something similar? I'd appreciate any insights! Thanks!

From what I know, they should provide you a replacement for free unless specified otherwise. In the EU, most electrical items come with a 2-year warranty. I’d suggest digging into those regulations and mentioning them. I’m actually considering getting Sansi grow lights too, so I'm curious about how your situation pans out!

I just heard back from them, and it seems they won't follow EU law on this one. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend buying from them based on this experience.
