I'm curious if there are specific plants that everyone seems to be growing around where you live. I'm not just talking about local natives, but rather those popular in gardens. In my area, you'll often find plants like cordyline, agave, yucca, and various palms such as phoenix and European fan palms. Forsythia, tamarisk, artemesia, valerian, and echium are also quite common. What about your neighborhood?

I see a ton of pampas grass in my neighborhood for some reason! It's like a trend around here. Others have been planting all kinds of shrub roses and red weeping acers too. It's interesting to see how neighborhoods trend in what they're growing!
I should try some in my garden, sounds like it really ties the community together!
Around me, campanulas and aubrietas are climbing the walls! It's funny how some plants seem to be taking over an area. Also, I've got to mention that I see loads of hydrangeas, especially the deep red ones - they seem to be a favorite for many bordering homes. What are your go-to plants?
Hydrangeas are gorgeous! I've got a few in my yard too, they're just so reliable.
I love a good hydrangea, but they can be a bit picky with the soil, right?
In Northern Ireland, cherry laurels are everywhere - almost like they created a cherry laurel jungle! Seems like every other house has them. But I've also noticed a bunch of acers popping up recently due to some attractive prices at garden centers. Anyone else seeing these patterns?
Same here! Those acers have really become the go-to for many gardens.
Haha, yeah, it feels like if you walk down my street, you'll trip over a cherry laurel!

Maybe the pampas grass is a nod to some vintage gardening style? It does have that retro vibe.
