I'm wondering if it's better to take my battery out of the charger as soon as it's fully charged, or can I leave it in while the charger is still plugged in? I usually remember to take it out, but sometimes I forget if it's still charging. Any advice on what's best for battery care?

I’ve looked into this too! Generally, it’s not recommended to leave a DeWalt battery on the charger for too long. While their newer chargers have smart technology that stops charging when full and switches to a maintenance mode, keeping the battery on for weeks isn’t ideal. It might slightly degrade the battery over time. For long-term storage, it’s best to take it off the charger, store it in a cool, dry place, and check it every few months. Best practice: unplug it once it’s fully charged!
You don’t need to worry too much about leaving the battery on the charger for a little while after it’s done charging. It's not going to cause any major issues overnight, but it’s best to take it out within a reasonable time. For lithium-ion batteries, if you're not planning to use them for a while, try to store them with a charge of about 40-60% to keep them healthy in the long run. If they lose a lot of charge just sitting around, the battery might be on its way out.

Awesome! Thanks for the help! I leave them in my basement for that exact purpose of a cool area. I appreciate the help!
