I'm renting a duplex, and I want to keep my two dogs safe while they use a long concrete walkway that leads to the grassy area in the yard. The surface is rough and hard, causing my younger dog to get sore pads and my older dog to have joint discomfort. Since I can't make any permanent changes to the property, does anyone have suggestions for temporary solutions that will help soften the walkway without being an eyesore or a safety hazard in rainy weather?

Outdoor carpets or rubber mats would work great! They often come in handy sizes and can protect your dog's paws from rough textures. Plus, they’ll help with heat during summer. Check out Lowe's or Home Depot for roll options that can be cut to your desired length.
Yeah, I was thinking outdoor carpets too! They’re easy to find and can really help out.
You might want to consider covering the walkway with rubber mats. They tend to stay in place pretty well due to their weight, and you can find barn mats at places like Tractor Supply or Menards. Just cut them to fit the walkway!

Just be sure to secure them well, especially in wet weather!
