How Often Should I Fertilize My Succulents?

Hey everyone! I've been under the impression that succulents only need fertilizing about every three months, especially if they haven't been repotted for a while. However, I just saw that my bottle of succulent fertilizer recommends feeding them weekly, which I assume means with every watering. It's a 5+9+7 cactus and succulent fertilizer. I'm curious about what you all think. I know some people skip fertilizing succulents entirely, but I'm open to it if it helps them thrive. Thanks for your input!

I usually skip fertilizing my newly repotted succulents since the fresh soil usually has some nutrients already mixed in. I start using fertilizer in the spring as per the package guidelines. My fertilizer is a general one for cacti and succulents that suggests watering every two weeks in spring/summer and every four weeks in fall/winter, which matches how often I soak my plants.

That makes total sense! I had no idea they had fertilizers meant for every single watering.

It really depends on the specific succulent species. Some types don't need any fertilizer, while others might benefit from more during the growing season. Just pay attention to how your plants respond to whatever you decide to try!
