I'm in the middle of redoing my dresser, and I'd like to remove the black paint that's currently on it. I'm using a citrus-smelling paint remover and scraping it off, but it feels like it's taking ages. I have ten drawers and two dressers to get done! What's an efficient and quick method to get all that paint off? Any advice would be appreciated!

Sanding is probably your best option here. It’s a bit of work, but it really helps to strip the old paint down effectively. Just make sure to be thorough and patient with it!
If you're using Citristrip, a good tip is to apply it thickly and cover it with plastic wrap for about 12 hours. That will give it time to really work. Otherwise, you can use a heat gun and a scraper, but be careful with the ventilation if you go that route.
Honestly, consider how much time you want to spend on this. If it’s dragging on forever, burning the old stuff and just getting new pieces from IKEA might save you a lot of hassle!

Absolutely! I’ve done that with Citristrip before, and using the wrap makes a huge difference. Just don’t forget to ventilate the area, especially if you switch to harsher chemicals!
