What’s the Most Affordable Way to Cover My Basement Ceiling?

I'm working with a 300 sqft basement that I want to cover up because I'm tired of staring at the underside of the first floor. I'm not looking for anything fancy; I just want something practical. I was considering using 7/16 plywood, but I'm open to other budget-friendly suggestions!

You might want to consider drywall instead of plywood. It's usually cheaper and takes paint much better, which is great if you want to add some color later on.

Yep, black paint is a quick fix! You can just use a spray can to cover the open ceiling. Easy and cost-effective!

The absolute cheapest route is to just leave it open and paint it black. If you decide to go for something more finished, drywall would be a solid option too.
