How Do I Overcome My Fear of Eating Homegrown Fruits and Veggies?

I've recently started my container garden and picked my first ripe strawberry! However, instead of feeling excited, I feel really nervous about actually eating it. I keep thinking about the safety—did birds land on it? Is the soil contaminated? I've been using neem oil and Captain Jack's bug spray, always following the instructions, and I grow everything in raised containers on my deck. But that anxiety still shadows me. For those of you who have experience growing your own food, how did you manage to trust the safety of your harvest? Are there specific steps or approaches you follow to ensure it's safe to eat?

Just rinse your strawberries! It's totally fine if an animal brushed against it. If you were lost in the woods, you'd eat that berry without a second thought. Garden produce is usually the best!

Agreed! It's all about breaking that mental barrier. Just give it a wash and enjoy!

I get where you're coming from, but remember, your homegrown food is probably healthier than what you find in grocery stores! You take the time to nurture it in a controlled environment, which is a lot better than commercial farming.

Exactly! Plus, think about all the hands that handle supermarket produce—yikes!

Honestly, just eat it! The taste of homegrown produce beats store-bought any day. Trust me, once you try it, you'll never want to go back!
