I'm a college student moving into an older off-campus house soon, and I've noticed there's a noticeable gap between the floorboards and the wall in my loft room. It's letting in some small spiders and bugs, and I want to seal it up to prevent that. I was thinking about using spray foam, but I'd love to hear if there are better or smarter solutions out there. Also, I've attached a video to show what I'm dealing with.

If you want to go all out, try using the largest quarter round trim that fits. Alternatively, you could remove the baseboard, sand, and restain the wood so it looks nice, then replace the baseboard with one that will cover the gap properly. Just be cautious, as quarter round alone might not completely prevent bugs from sneaking in.
Using quarter round trim is a great idea! It should fit nicely in that gap, and it may have been there originally. It's a common approach to cover such gaps, plus it adds a nice finish to the room.
I second the idea of using quarter round or shoe mold trim. To make it even more effective, consider adding some foam backer rod behind the trim. It gives you a better seal and helps keep those pesky bugs out!

Just a heads up, quarter round might not completely stop all bugs. You’ll need to ensure it’s sealed well to be effective!
