I just noticed some efflorescence on my basement's exterior and I'm feeling pretty worried about it. We've got some folks coming to check it out soon, but I'd like to get a better idea of how serious this might be. To me, it looks like a major issue, even though the inside of the basement feels dry. I've attached some pictures to help give context. Any advice?

From what I can see in your pictures, it looks like the stonework might have been coated in some way before and it’s starting to peel off. That might not mean there's water damage, so it’s worth getting a pro's opinion first.
Ohhhh. So maybe it’s not actual like water damage?
