I'm a beginner looking for a circular saw and have a budget of $250-300, which needs to include a battery. I currently have two 20v XR 1.2Ah DeWalt batteries. I'm only planning to use the saw for a couple of projects a year, with a workbench project in mind. What should I consider when choosing a brand and model within my budget?

I've been really enjoying Milwaukee tools lately. They've made some great advancements in their hand tools. If you're looking for something reliable, they might be worth checking out. Just make sure whatever you choose fits your budget and needs for those occasional projects!
Milwaukee is a great choice. Just be mindful of your project needs!
Since you already have some DeWalt tools, I'd recommend sticking with them for your circular saw. They offer interchangeable batteries, so it's more convenient. Look for a kit that includes the saw and a bigger battery than your 1.2Ah ones for better performance. Just make sure not to buy any knockoff batteries, as they can be really risky! A 7-inch saw would also be a good choice for handling thicker wood like 2x4s.
Yeah, definitely go for quality batteries. It's a small investment for safety!
Good point about sticking to DeWalt, it's nice to keep the battery situation simple!

Totally agree! Milwaukee's tools are really solid. Just ensure it comes with a battery that suits you.
