I'm thinking about purchasing the M12 Fuel Oscillating Multi Tool (model 2526-20) and noticed that Home Depot has it listed for $159, while Amazon has it for just $101 from a vendor named Bargain Ben. I've seen warnings about counterfeit Milwaukee Tools being sold on Amazon, and I'm worried about whether Bargain Ben is a legitimate seller. It's not on Milwaukee's authorized dealer list, so I'm curious if there are other potential issues with buying from them, even if the product itself is real. What do you all think?

Just a heads up, any tools you get from Amazon probably aren't coming from authorized sellers, which carries a risk of getting counterfeit products. You might also face issues with warranty claims since you won't have a valid receipt. Milwaukee might honor it based on the tool's manufacture date, but there's a chance they'll reject the claim. Plus, you could end up with a tool that was already used and halfway through its warranty period. Home Depot has some hacks for getting that multi-tool at a good price if you keep an eye on their deals.
If you're looking to keep the 5-year warranty on Milwaukee tools, I'd really suggest sticking with authorized dealers. Milwaukee’s warranty info states that only purchases from them are covered, and you'll want to keep your receipt just in case. Buying from an unknown seller like Bargain Ben could leave you in a tough spot if something goes wrong with the tool.
Super helpful. Thx!
I've bought that tool a couple of times from Waysource.com for about $96, and they're an authorized dealer. Honestly, I wouldn't risk buying Milwaukee tools from Amazon at all. Bargain Ben sounds a little sketchy! I trust Cheapo Charlie for batteries, but for tools, I'd stick to the reputable sites.
Right? Doesn't inspire confidence. ? Thanks for the Waysource recommendation.
I actually bought mine from Amazon for $106 and it was brand new with a good warranty. No issues there for me.
Thx for the reply. Sounds like you're happy with your purchase. Out of curiosity, when you say the warranty was good, does that mean you made a warranty claim and it was honored?

Thx for the thorough answer. I keep seeing mention of Home Depot hacks, but I'm not sure what they're all about. What's the TLDR?
