I'm having trouble with my Samsung TV that won't power on, and there's no standby light showing. I already replaced the power board because I noticed some burn damage on the previous one. I also tried disconnecting the power board from the main board to check if the backlight would turn on, but nothing happened. Now that I've swapped the power board, there's still no standby light or backlight. I'm hesitant to replace the main board without being sure it's the culprit. Any suggestions? I'm just trying to be a good son-in-law and fix this!

Just a quick thought—are you sure it's plugged in? Sometimes we forget the basics! You might wanna check if it's connected to an outlet that's actually working. And if there's a light switch nearby that seems useless, flip it on just in case!
Honestly, I think it's time to stop playing around with it and let a technician take a look. Otherwise, you might just keep wasting money on parts that won't fix the problem.
Have you tried using a multimeter to check the voltage? It might help to figure out where the issue lies. Also, don't forget to check the fuse. I know it sounds simple, but it's easy to overlook. And just to be safe, have you tried plugging it into a different outlet to ensure it's getting power?

I don't have a multimeter, so I took a chance with replacing the board. Do you really think it could just be a fuse on the main board?
