I plugged my vacuum cleaner into a bedroom outlet and heard a faint sizzling noise when I powered it on. It tripped the GFCI breaker in my breaker box, and now I can't reset it. I'm wondering if this means the outlet is faulty and needs replacing, or could it be that the circuit breaker itself is dead? Is it possible that just a bad outlet could keep the GFCI breaker tripped?
