Hey everyone! I need some help here. The previous installer put down a toilet flange and laid a thick layer of mortar over it, which is now a bit of a mess. I'm trying to figure out the best way to break up that mortar to properly install the flange without harming the surrounding tile. I've been using a hammer and chisel, but I'm a bit worried about being too aggressive. I'm open to any suggestions you might have! I even posted some pictures on Imgur if that helps.

Hammer and chisel is definitely a solid method! Just make sure to stay a little away from the tile edges, and you should be good. If you're up for it, switching to an SDS drill with a chisel bit could save you some time, just be careful not to overdo it!
