Hey everyone! After five years of planning, I'm finally ready to set up my workshop and start making furniture and built-ins for a home renovation. I've got a small space in my garage, measuring about 20'x11', and I plan to buy a 3hp Sawstop, an 8" jointer, and a 15" benchtop planer. My main dilemma is figuring out the right dust collection system. I really care about health and noise levels, so I'm okay with investing in something high-end but don't want anything overkill. I'm considering options like the Oneida Supercell, V-System 3000, Harvey G700, and Harvey G800Pro, but I'm not sure which would be best for my situation. Any recommendations? Also, since I might be moving in a year, I want something that's somewhat future-proofed. Thanks for your help!

All the options you’re looking at should work well for your needs, especially with some thoughtful ductwork. Just keep in mind that if you move to larger machines later, you'll want to ensure your dust collection can keep up with multiple machines running at once.
If noise is a big concern for you, the Harvey units are very quiet. The G800Pro claims around 61 dB, which is significantly lower than the Oneida V-System's 77 dB rating. You might also think about building a cabinet for your dust collector to muffle the sound – a simple closet could do wonders for noise reduction!
Don't forget about your smaller hand tools! Brands like Festool and Makita make great, quieter dust extractors that work perfectly with track saws and sanders. For the larger units, consider whether noise affects only you or also those in your home. I have a 2hp Grizzly collector, and while it's loud, I usually wear ear protection, so it hasn’t been a huge issue. You might also want to look into adding an ambient air filter to reduce dust in the shop. By the way, which brand makes your 15" benchtop planer?
