What’s the Best Way to Ground an Outlet When You Can’t Dig?

Hey there! I'm looking to ground an outlet for my setup, just to ensure safety. Unfortunately, I can't dig a copper rod at least 1.5 meters underground because my area is completely covered in asphalt and concrete. Plus, there's no grounding in my main circuit, and I don't have any underground pipes to connect to for grounding. I know this is a tricky situation—are there any alternative solutions I can consider?

If you don't have a proper ground, the safest option in the US is to install a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) receptacle. It can provide some protection even without a grounding wire. You should check if you can find these in your country—should be a good workaround for your situation!

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely look into finding GFCIs here.

Just a heads up, appliances really should be properly grounded for safety reasons. Codes can vary by country, so make sure to look up the local regulations for grounding options available in your area. In many places, safety grounding isn't just about connecting to earth—it's crucial for protecting people from electrical hazards. If you don't have a ground, you might want to consider using a GFCI, but you'll need to comply with the local safety standards. Let me know your country for more specific advice!
