How to Fix Mistakes in My Screen Door Installation?

Asked By CraftyPioneer87 On

I recently had my brother-in-law install a new universal aluminum screen door, but he accidentally drilled the holes in the wrong spots. I'm looking for suggestions on how to fill these holes so they don't look too obvious or tacky. Any ideas?

It's good to know you're dealing with aluminum. You might want to check out the fastener aisle at places like Lowes or Home Depot; they have plastic plugs in various sizes that could work perfectly for your holes!

Mentioning the material of the door is super helpful. With aluminum, fillers work well, but it might also be worth considering using plastic plugs for a cleaner look. Just make sure they match the color of your door!

Yeah, good call on matching the color. It makes a big difference!

You could use wood putty or another type of filler to cover the holes. Just fill them in and wipe away the excess with a damp sponge. If you want, you can even paint over the door afterward to help it blend in!
