Hey everyone! I recently moved into a new apartment and I'm trying to fix up a few things around the house. One annoying issue I have is with the intercom. Whenever anything comes close to the microphone, like my hand or even plastic and metal objects, it produces a really unpleasant noise. I don't have much experience with speakers, so I'm not sure if it's an easy fix or not. Any advice from those who know more about this would be greatly appreciated! I even have a video showing the problem, but it seems like it keeps getting deleted. Thanks in advance!

I had a similar issue with my intercom. It turned out that the mic needed re-positioning; it was too close to the speaker. If you can, try adjusting its placement a bit. And sure, if you find a volume control inside, that could definitely help too! Let us know how it goes!
Hey! It sounds like your intercom might be picking up interference, which can happen sometimes. If there's a volume control on the device, try turning it down to see if that helps. Also, check if there's a push-to-talk button that's stuck—it might be causing the noise. If you’re renting, I’d definitely recommend reporting this to your management, but since you just bought the place, it’s all yours to fix! Good luck!

Just be careful when you take it apart; sometimes there are hidden screws or clips. If turning down the volume doesn't help, maybe consider looking for a replacement mic on your own!
