Can I Still Plant Asparagus in Early June in Zone 4a?

I'm thinking about planting asparagus this year, but I've been delayed in ordering and now I'm uncertain if early June is too late for planting in zone 4a (Northern NY). Will I still have time to successfully plant them this spring, or should I wait until fall or next spring? I'm seeing mixed information online about this, so I would appreciate any insights!

I'd definitely plant them! Since you have to wait for two years before harvesting, just make sure to keep them watered, especially if you hit a hot or dry spell.

Thanks for the tip! We have a fixed rate for water, so we should manage to water them as needed. Also, it rains quite a bit here, so I'm hopeful that'll be enough for them to thrive.

No need to worry! It wouldn't be too late to plant in NY, especially compared to hotter climates. Just ensure you give them plenty of water while they're getting established.
