I recently ordered a sample of a wood grain peel and stick roll from a sketchy website, and to my surprise, I actually love it! I'm planning to use it as a temporary flooring solution, but I'm a bit concerned because it's only 1.5 mm thick. I'm trying to find an appropriate underlayment to place between it and my plywood subfloor. I've noticed that most products I come across specifically say they're not suitable for peel and stick applications. I would prefer using rigid panels or fold-out options instead of something that rolls out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! ?

You should start by cleaning the subfloor to remove any dirt or debris. After that, apply a quality primer and let it dry before you set down the peel and stick. This prep work helps with adhesion!

Thanks for the tip! But I just pulled up some surprisingly thick carpet, and now there's an inch of space between the baseboards and the new flooring. Would it be easier to just nail on some quarter round to the baseboards instead of raising the surface? Also, should I be worried about losing insulation? My AC already has a hard time in summer, and I'm afraid losing the carpet will make it worse. I mean, the carpet was probably nice a decade ago, but it's just too gross now, no matter how many times I've cleaned it.
