Tips for Keeping Mosquitoes Away While Gardening

I love gardening during the evening when the heat isn't so strong, but that's also when mosquitoes seem to appear in droves. I already wear long pants and long sleeves, but they keep going for my head! I'd prefer not to use chemical sprays on myself. Can anyone share some effective tips or tricks for keeping mosquitoes at bay while gardening? I make sure to avoid standing water by watering my plants early in the morning when the sun is low.

Mosquito coils are fantastic for small areas where air is still. If you can, set up a box fan aimed right at you; it creates enough wind to keep them at bay. Also, consider using hats with mosquito netting. If all else fails, you might need to stick to daylight gardening hours. Good luck out there!

Avoiding gardening during dawn and dusk is key since that's when mosquitoes are most active. If you can control your schedule, this might help reduce their assaults!

Setting up some fans can work wonders! Mosquitoes really struggle in windy conditions, and it's way easier than trying to fight them off manually. If you have no power at your garden, brainstorm on how to get a battery-operated fan or something similar!
