Hey everyone, I'm feeling a bit burnt out from taking care of my houseplants after four years of dedicated care. I have a collection that includes monsteras, aurea monsteras, constellations, philodendrons, palms, and pineapples, all indoors. Despite having lights and humidifiers, I'm just exhausted by the constant upkeep, from repotting to watering and everything in between. I've even started letting some plants die off, especially my alocasias, because I just don't have the energy anymore. I'm seriously considering selling everything off. Has anyone else been in this situation? Did giving up help? Does the fatigue eventually fade?

I totally get where you’re coming from! I went through a similar phase myself. Sometimes, it’s just too much hassle, especially if the plants aren’t bringing you joy anymore. I’d recommend keeping a few low-maintenance ones that you genuinely love and rehoming the rest. There’s no shame in that!
Oh man, I’ve been there too! I went a bit overboard during lockdown and ended up with a ton of plants. The upkeep got crazy! I finally just let a lot of them die off and focused on the ones I really liked. Now, I only keep the tougher ones that can handle a little neglect. If they don’t bring joy, it’s best to let them go!
Definitely! I think plants should add to your life, not create stress. Keeping things manageable makes it way more enjoyable.
Honestly, it sounds like you’ve hit a wall, and that’s okay! Just rehome the fussy ones and keep a few hardy plants that you can actually enjoy. Plants should be a source of happiness, not stress. If it’s overwhelming, downsizing is the way to go!
Right? It’s all about finding the balance that works for you. Sometimes taking a step back is the best option!

Exactly! Selling off the ones that stress you out can be a relief. You might find that taking care of just a couple of your favorites feels much more enjoyable.
