I've noticed that moss is really taking over my backyard during the winter, suffocating the grass that should be thriving there. What steps can I take to remove the moss and restore the grass in my yard?

It sounds like you've got a moss problem on your hands! The first thing I'd recommend is to rake out as much of the moss as you can. Once you've cleared it away, you can re-seed the area with grass to help restore your yard. Just make sure the conditions are right for grass to grow—plenty of sunlight and well-drained soil are key factors.
