I just picked up some butternut squash seeds from Lowe's and realized I don't have any squash in my garden. Since it's already late in the season, I'm wondering if I might still be able to get a harvest. Am I too late to plant these seeds?

Check out your local county extension resources! They usually have great info on planting times and schedules. Here's a helpful link: https://uthort.tennessee.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/228/2025/01/2025-TN-Fruit-and-Veggie-CalendarE.pdf
It really depends on where you are located. I'm in NJ, zone 6B, and I think there's still time to plant. If you're in a cooler area, you might be cutting it close, but it could still work out if the weather cooperates.
If you’re in a warmer zone like Tennessee, you should still have time! Squash loves warm weather, so even if it feels late, just planting them could still yield some squash before the frost hits.
Totally agree! I planted my acorn squash a bit late, and they still turned out great.

I'm in zone 3, and I usually start earlier, but I'm also planting squash and zucchini this weekend!
