Best Drill for Making a Hole from My Garage to Outside?

I'm looking for advice on which Milwaukee drill to use for drilling from the interior of my garage to the exterior of my home. I'm only planning to make a hole about 1" in diameter to get some wire through, so it shouldn't need to be too large. What do you recommend?

If you decide to buy, both the Milwaukee M12 and M18 hammer drills can do the job, but they will be slower compared to an SDS drill. That said, they are useful for other projects later on! If you're working in the garage, a corded SDS drill could save you some hassle and is usually under $100.

Totally, and the corded option is super convenient in a garage.

Good point! I used the M12 with a long electrician drill bit, and it worked great for me.

It's really important to consider what your walls are made of. If it's concrete, then you'll definitely need a heavy-duty drill. An SDS drill would be the best choice, especially for thicker walls. But if you just want to do this once and don’t need a drill afterward, consider renting one instead of buying it!

Yeah, renting makes a lot of sense if it's just for one hole.

True! SDS drills are awesome for this kind of job.
