I'm planning a project for some younger kids I'm teaching, and I want to know if it's safe for them to use steel wool and vinegar. Are there any risks I should be aware of? Thanks!

I usually just give my kids regular washcloths and some Dove soap for projects. It saves on potential mess and stress!
It really depends on the age of the kids. If they’re around 7 years old, like your group, they should generally be fine. Just make sure to strain the vinegar well to avoid any iron fibers from the steel wool getting mixed in. There’s nothing outright toxic, but you can never be too careful! Just remember, accidents happen—like that one horror story of a toddler drinking a whole quart and getting sick. But I think your 7-year-olds will manage!
Keep in mind, though, you might face some ruined clothes and skin stains, just a heads up! Kids can be pretty messy, and vinegar can cause some temporary discoloration.
Good to know! I'll make sure to prepare for that.

Yep, I’m sure they won’t drink it! Just keep an eye out.
