I'm looking to buy my husband a 3/4in impact wrench for an upcoming occasion. Last year on Father's Day, I got great advice from this community, so I'm back for more! He purchased extra M18 Fuel batteries last year, so I'm considering just getting the tool itself to save some cash. Any tips, hacks, or deals you could share? Thanks in advance! Just to give you some context, he has mentioned liking a newer model that his buddy owns, not the older one that my brother-in-law has. He wants to use this wrench for removing lug nuts from tractors, which seems to confirm that a 3/4in tool is what he really needs (instead of a 1/2in).

Sounds like you're in a bit of a dilemma! There’s not really a newer 3/4in impact wrench out there aside from the model 2864-20, which has 1200 ft-lb of torque for tightening and 1500 ft-lb for loosening. If he’s using it for lug nuts on tractors, it’ll work, but honestly, if he doesn't need the super heavy-duty version, a good quality 1/2in could also do the trick. The latest model 2967-20 is around $299 and produces similar torque, too. Be prepared to spend near $350 for that 3/4in one, as deals are pretty scarce right now. Hope this helps!

This is super helpful! I think he mostly works with smaller tractors, not those massive ones, so the 1/2in might actually be just fine for us. I appreciate the insight!
