Hey everyone! I'm a new member and could use some help with my project. I'm building a custom Bluetooth speaker system that includes two 4-inch speakers, two 6.5-inch speakers, an aftermarket car stereo, and a 110V AC to 12V 10A DC power supply. The issue I'm facing is that the memory wire doesn't retain presets or audio settings when unplugged. I want to create a 12V Li-ion battery that powers just the memory wire for 1-3 days to prevent loss of settings. Ideally, this battery should charge while the radio is in use, similar to charging a cell phone. Is this possible? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I did some digging, and it looks like you could use four 18650 Li-ion cells in series. They have a nominal voltage of 3.7V which, when put together, gives you about 14.8V. You can use a buck converter to step down to 12V as needed. This might provide you with enough power for your memory needs without complicating things too much.
For keeping the memory alive, you might not need a complex setup. Have you considered using an A23 battery? It’s a smaller battery, and while it won't last several days, it might help keep the memory intact for short periods. Just a thought!
