I recently bought a brand new Bosch dishwasher, and I'm experiencing a strange issue. After every cycle, it emits a horrible smell that resembles burnt plastic. I ensured to remove all packaging and labels before the first use, and I load the dishes correctly so that nothing blocks the sprayers. The washer completes its cycle and cleans the dishes fine, but when I open the door, the smell hits me, and everything in there has a bad odor. I've even had to hand wash some cups just to get rid of the stink before I can use them. Any ideas on what could be the cause?

You should try not using the heated dry cycle. There's a part at the bottom that gets really hot, and if any plastic utensils or cups get too close, they might melt or scorch. It's also more energy-efficient to pick cycles that don't add extra heat.
It might be a problem with a gear or belt getting stuck if the dishwasher is new. I'd suggest calling someone out under warranty to check it out for you.
Usually, those burnt smells come from plastic getting stuck to the heating element. Take out the racks and check the heating coil at the bottom. If you see any melted plastic, you'll need to scrape it off. It's a good idea to inspect everything just to be safe.

That's a great idea! I didn't realize the heated dry cycle could cause that.
