Success with Growing Jalapeños in the Pacific Northwest?

Has anyone had luck growing jalapeños in the Pacific Northwest? I picked up some cheap plants at my garden shop, but I'm a bit doubtful since I've never seen locally grown jalapeños before. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough at the farmer's markets?

I’m in the PNW too, and I have no trouble at all growing jalapeños or other hot peppers!

I’m in Portland, and I’ve had great success with hot peppers like jalapeños and shishitos! Sweet peppers, on the other hand, always struggle for me. This year, I’ve got 2 bell pepper plants that are barely surviving while my shishito is thriving. I think this might be my last attempt at sweet peppers!

Same here! Hot peppers seem to do well, but sweet ones just don’t work for me.

I’m trying to grow some jalapeños right now! No fruit yet, but I’ve got flowers starting to bloom. I’ve grown bell peppers before and they did great. As long as it’s warm enough in the summer, I think jalapeños will thrive too!

Hey! I’m just across the border in the Fraser Valley. I grow peppers every year too. Last year, my harvest was small due to soil issues, but this year it's looking promising with my jalapeño and Serrano plants. They’ve nearly doubled in size in just ten days! Make sure to put them in the hottest spot of your yard with good, loose soil—should be good to go now that the cold weather has passed!
