I've been painting a vacant duplex upstairs and totally forgot to close two windows in a bedroom that doesn't have screens. Yes, I'm feeling pretty foolish right now! I've checked everywhere with a flashlight and I haven't found any pests. We live downstairs and haven't heard anything either, plus I checked all the light fixtures for bats. It lightly rained a couple of days, but the sills are dry, and I can't see or feel any water damage. My main concern is whether insects have snuck in behind the wiring of the open switches. We've listened to the walls and still don't hear anything. Should I call in an electrician just to be safe? Is there anything else I should do to ensure no critters have made their way inside? Should I set out more traps? I know I messed up, so feel free to roast me for it! We've had a pretty stressful few weeks and I thought I had closed those windows.

Since you didn't notice any major rain or signs of damage, I'd say you’re likely okay. If you see any droppings or pests, then you might want to take further action. It's good that you're setting some mouse traps just in case!
You'll probably be fine! It sounds like you did a thorough check. Just keep an eye out for any sneaky pests. Sometimes, simply airing the place out can help too.

Glad to hear it seems good! A few dead june bugs are no big deal. Just keep an eye on things after setting your traps.
