Is it Safe to Keep My Bathroom Fan Spliced with the Fridge?

I've got a situation here: my bathroom exhaust fan just quit on me, so I picked up a new one. While I was uninstalling the old fan, I discovered that the wiring from the breaker box runs to the fridge, with the fan wired into that same circuit. Is this setup common? Is it dangerous? Should I wire the new fan the same way or bring in an electrician to ensure both the fan and fridge have their own dedicated circuits? Thanks for any help!

It's not unusual to have a low-load device like a bathroom fan sharing a circuit with a high-load appliance like a fridge. Usually, you’ll find that the circuit runs to the fridge outlet first, then branches off to the fan via a junction box and switch. Just make sure your breaker can handle the load!

Got it! Just to clarify, the connections in the fan housing where the wires merge are all done with wire nuts, right? So, three grounds, three hots, and three neutrals all bundled together?
