What are some easy houseplants for a cat household?

I'm looking for some simple houseplant recommendations for my sister, who's in high school. I recently gave her a few easy plants, but unfortunately, our family cat completely wrecked them. I want to get her more plants that can be kept in a cat-free zone. So far, I've got some tradescantia, a snake plant, and pothos, mainly hanging plants that won't be easy for the cat to get to. I want to avoid anything that requires too much care since she's just starting with plants. Any suggestions for resilient, low-maintenance houseplants that can handle a little rough treatment?

How about trying some cacti? Cats usually won't go near them for long, plus they don't need much care—just a little water now and then! It could be a fun and safe option for her.

I love that idea! Though my cat might not get the memo and could end up having a little accident!

Geraniums have worked well for me in various tricky environments. They might be a good choice since they're pretty resilient! Just make sure they’re out of the cat's reach; they can handle some neglect too, which is perfect for your sister.
