Hey everyone! I'm looking to set up a solar power system for my Ego battery mower and generator. I currently have multiple batteries and want to connect them to some solar panels and an inverter. Specifically, the charger for my mower lists a requirement of 1600W at 120V, so I think a 3kW inverter, like the Eg4, would be ideal. However, I'm not sure how many solar panels I need and what the best setup would be for charging my batteries effectively. I'm considering a roof mount since my shed roof is newer and south-facing. I've also got some questions about monitoring and integration. Any suggestions on panels, mounts, or general setup tips?

You might be overcomplicating things a bit! Instead of stressing about an inverter and charger, consider hooking up a '48v' MPPT controller directly to your Ego batteries. There's a good option from BougeRV that can handle buck/boost work, but any decent 48v MPPT should do fine. This way, you can feed the batteries directly without all the extra setup. Just a heads-up, your mower may only run for a short time because of the startup draw, so keeping the system straightforward will make life easier.

That's an interesting thought! So, you're saying I could just get these mounted on the wall with that MPPT setup? I need to clarify how many chargers I can run in parallel, but it sounds less hassle than the inverter route!
