I'm dealing with some serious paint issues in my bathroom. The current paint is all cracked up and peeling like the top of a brownie, and the sheetrock is exposed in several areas. I'm really concerned about the deep cracks and whether I can just slap some Kilz on top without it cracking through again. I'm also planning to fill the holes with Silver Set 90, but I'm wondering if that's the right choice. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, if it were me, I'd consider tearing it all the way down to the studs and starting fresh. Just painting over it won't help much in the long run; it’ll still be a mess. If you're committed to resurfacing it, make sure you scrape off as much loose paint as possible, and you might want to do a skim coat afterwards to achieve a smooth finish.
If the cracking is just due to using the wrong paint and not because of moisture damage, consider covering those walls with fabric instead! I did that once in a rental to make it more inviting. Just staple some fabric or sheets over the damaged areas, and for a unique look, you can gather it at the ceiling. Just remember, don’t pad it in the bath due to the moisture! Good luck, and have fun with it!
Before you start painting, it’s really important to scrape off any old paint that’s peeling or not sticking anymore. That’s a must! But if you're not too confident about doing it yourself, covering it with 1/4" drywall or beadboard could be a solid plan. It’s like starting fresh without all the hassle!
