Hey everyone, I need some advice! I live in a really old house with my mom, and we've been dealing with a rodent problem since our cats were taken to my brother's place about a year ago. We used to have three cats, and two of them were excellent at catching mice, especially one who would bring us her catches. Now that they're gone, I hear rodents in the walls and even suspect one is crawling through a hole in the floorboards. I'm thinking about sealing up the gaps—would that help? Any suggestions for filling those holes? I'm also considering calling in exterminators. Thanks in advance for your help!

I totally get it! If I were in your shoes, I'd rather have the cats back instead of dealing with all this. They’re natural hunters! But since you can't get them back right now, make sure you seal off the whole house to keep those little critters out, and definitely set up traps that you can check regularly. From my experience, snap traps work best. Larger holes need to be filled with something sturdy, like steel wool, before sealing. Good luck!
Definitely set up bucket traps! They're super effective. I caught over ten mice in one night by using some soapy water and a ramp coated with peanut butter. You should also consider sealing up any holes and eliminating food sources to keep them from coming in, too. Just clean everything thoroughly!

I second that! Bucket traps are a game changer. Just make sure to check them regularly!
