Hey folks! I've recently dived into collecting hand planes and currently have a few, including a Stanley Bailey No 3C Type 15 and a Stanley Bedrock 607C Type 7. I'm particularly interested in expanding my Bedrock collection but would love to stick to Type 7 variants to keep it cohesive. However, it seems like most I come across are Type 6 and Type 9. Would it make sense to focus solely on finding Type 7 Bedrocks, or should I consider picking up other types whenever I stumble upon a good deal? I'd really appreciate your thoughts, especially from those who've been in this hobby for a while!

It's definitely possible! I know a few collectors who focus on specific types. Just be prepared that it might take some time and effort to track them down. If you're enjoying the hunt, that's part of the fun right there! Also, checking in with groups like the Mid-West Tool Collectors Association can be super helpful; they often have resources and members willing to trade or sell.

Thanks for the tip about the group! I'm looking forward to seeing what I can find.
