Is Power Washing Vinyl Siding a Good Idea or Should I Opt for Soft Washing?

I'm really torn on whether it's safe to use a pressure washer on my vinyl siding. I've seen a lot of conflicting opinions online. Since I'm looking at spending over $800, I want to make sure my siding and the interior of the house won't get damaged in the process. Should I stick to power washing, or is soft washing a better choice?

It's generally safe to pressure wash vinyl siding; I’ve done it myself without issue. Just make sure to test a small area first to see how your siding holds up.

Consider the age of your siding too. If it’s pretty old, it might be brittle and prone to cracking if you get too close with the washer. Using one of the wider tips could help prevent damage.

I recommend using a product like JOMAX for cleaning. I just mix it with some water and apply it with a pump sprayer, then follow up with a gentle pressure wash. It keeps the siding safe and looking good!

I've used a pressure washer on my vinyl siding a couple of times a year, and it worked great! As long as your windows and doorframes are well-sealed and the person operating the washer doesn’t focus too long on any one spot, it should be fine. Just be cautious!

Haha, I love that tip about "whomever" vs "whoever"! Always good to brush up on grammar, even when talking home maintenance!
