I'm in the market for a dehumidifier for my bathroom, and I'm hoping to find a solid option around the $200 price range. I've been eyeing the Midea Cube but heard some mixed reviews about it being too loud or malfunctioning after just a few weeks. My bathroom gets super humid, especially in the summer after I shower, leaving my walls, floors, and mirrors drenched, even with the fan on. I'm looking to keep mold at bay, so any recommendations would really help!

It sounds like your main issue might be more about exhaust than humidity itself. Make sure your bathroom fan is venting outside properly and isn’t just blowing air into the attic or soffits. A humidity sensor could help control when your fan runs too. Also, having standing water on your walls is a sign that you need to check for structural issues—just saying!
Hey! First off, check if your exhaust fan is actually working. You running it long enough after showers? I set mine on a timer for 30-60 minutes so I don’t forget to turn it off. As for dehumidifiers, I usually grab whatever Costco has at the time. They all tend to stop working after a year or so, but at least I can return them for a full refund and try again. My current Midea seems to be holding up well, and I think it would work for your bathroom too!
Honestly, a dehumidifier might struggle to keep up with the steam from a hot shower. You’ll still see wet walls. If you really want to reduce moisture, consider switching to a shower door instead of a curtain to minimize steam or even taking shorter, cooler showers. And a quick squeegee over the walls afterwards helps a ton!
Do you find the Midea Cube noisy? Also, I'm not sure if my fan vents outside because I haven’t seen a vent pipe.
