Hey everyone! I'm looking for suggestions on how to connect to the Battery Management System (BMS) of some batteries I have. They come with both Android and iOS apps, and my plan is to set up an old phone inside the battery box that connects to Wi-Fi (since we have a permanent Starlink setup at our off-grid location). I was thinking of using something like AnyDesk or TeamViewer to remotely access the iPhone and control the Bluetooth connection. Also, I have a Victron Energy CerboGX—does that play a role in this? What solutions have you tried for this kind of setup?

There are actually BMS Bluetooth integrations available for Home Assistant that might work for you. It's a pretty neat solution if you're already using that system! It could simplify remote monitoring and control of your batteries without needing a physical connection to the phone.
You could also consider using an ESP32 to report data back to a Raspberry Pi set up with Home Assistant. This can create a more stable connection for monitoring your battery systems remotely, plus you can customize it as needed.
How does that work, though? Is it complicated to set up?

For real? That’s wild! It’s frustrating how many one-off protocols exist instead of sticking with established networks like Wi-Fi. It’s great to see people working on making sense of this chaos!
