I've come across Trex Composite decking, which I understand is a brand. Can anyone share their experiences with it or offer insights into composite decking in general? Trex does make a great product, but keep in mind it can get pretty pricey. The cost is definitely something to consider when planning your project!
I've had Trex for a while now, and I'm pretty happy with it! Just a tip: think about what you'll use for the substructure. If you go with wood, it might wear out just as quickly as your old deck. Trex does have a steel substructure option, but it was a bit too pricey for me. I ended up using wood but added their RainEscape product, which has not only protected my joists but also made my underdeck area waterproof and more usable.
