How to Fix a Window Sill that’s Pulling Away from the Wall?

I have a two-story townhouse and I've noticed that the window sill on the second floor is starting to separate from the wall. At first, I thought it was just a cosmetic issue, so I had a handyman come out to nail it back in place and use caulk to seal it. Unfortunately, almost a year later, the problem has become much worse. I'm looking for advice on how to make a permanent fix. Any suggestions?

Honestly, this is more than just a cosmetic fix since you already tried that, and it's not holding up. You might need to look into what’s causing the movement in the first place. It often takes someone experienced to check it out properly on-site and see what's really going on. Don't just patch it up; get to the root of the problem!

It sounds like moisture could be causing the issue, so you might want to take the sill off and check for water damage. If moisture is getting in, that needs to be addressed before anything else can really hold up. It’s better to catch those problems early!

Did you really have to hire that out? I feel like it shouldn’t have cost more than $20, and you could’ve handled it yourself. Just saying!

Thanks for the input, but it's not always easy to know when to DIY! Appreciate the tips!
